October 5, 200520 yr Hello fellow buildersAfter a long time searching for some important dimensions we were lucky enough to had a chance taking pictures and measurements on real B-17 parts. Now we have approx. 70 percent of all needed dimensions for our project. It's still a lot of work, because the whole setup will be build first in 3D CAD before any woodwork will start. Here are some pictures of the first new.1:1 scale templates.Note the drawings of the instrument panel on the third picture. There are made by Bruce Claxton from http://b17panels.com. Thanks for the great support !Regards,Dan
October 5, 200520 yr Hi Daniel !,Impressive as "always" !Remind that once there is coming a point you have to fly in stead of building ......Hesselp.s. The link directs to your old non existing 737-200 pages.
October 5, 200520 yr Hello Thanks for the compliments about my first steps in Autodesk Inventor. Some mounths ago we came in contact with the guys from the Crash 40-45 museum in Lisserbroek. The one and only kind of real B-17 throttle, control colum, rudder pedal and crew seat are located there. Because the guys there were so impressed of our project, we had the chance to touch their collection and taking all dimensions from it. By the way, it was also a nice trip to spotting planes at EHAM ;-)Regards,Dan
