November 18, 200520 yr This was just posted in the Gallery.... I knew I should of waited to build this one...... NOT!!BUT.... this is niceeeeeeeee:)http://www.ifsbi.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=80
November 18, 200520 yr As I'm drooling at this photo... I just noticed, wonder if anybody else did. There's no TRIM WHEEL????
November 18, 200520 yr Trim wheels are only there in most (recent) planes for visual indication. Even like Fokker70 has thumb-buttons on the yoke (as have most others). They might have digitalised this visual reference.

They might have digitalised this>visual reference.Well, Airbuses have the autotrim that kind of makes usual "trim" useless. The stick just stays where you leave it and keeps the attitude. What would a trim wheel do in that setup? If you want to rise the nose, just pull a bit on the stick and let go..//Tuomas
November 19, 200520 yr So true, but all the A319 and up, except the A380 requires the trim to be set manually on the ground, prior to take off.
November 19, 200520 yr >There's no TRIM WHEEL????Yes, and even worse: there's no Yoke! ;-)Nicowww.nicokaan.nl
November 19, 200520 yr EEeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkk !!!!!!!!!!! NO YOKE???????I like it, I like it. :)I was looking at some of my old piloting pictures, and there's one aircraft I flew... quite a bit, the Aerostar... has not trim wheel, it's all electric. Then on top of that, ground steering was done with a toggle switch.
November 20, 200520 yr Well, a control stick is the correct way anyway, the yoke is just to make airplanes look more like cars :(My Beech Baron sim has a stick, how' that for the realism? It flies great though. I just did not have the time to build a good enough yoke at this point... It's a _real_ stick though, with aileron/elevator travel both more than 25cm total - makes it easy to fly precisely. PC joysticks are just a joke :)//Tuomas
November 20, 200520 yr Actually the trim is usefeul in electrical emergency configuration when you have lost everything you use the trim and the rudder the only 2 things that are linked not only by computers but by cables and this helps you control the plane so that the other crew member can reset the computers and restart systems! This would be in a major malfunction of systems! But yes sir the Trim is very useful... Also in Direct Law and Abnormal Alternate manual trim is lost and you have to trim the plane MANUALLY, so trust me the trim is very useful also after engine start you set trim for Take off so I
