Hi all...I wonder if anyone can help me.I have set up my autopilot switches using Mouser pushbutton switches with little LED's in. For some reason I can't get the LED's to go on when I push the appropriate Autopilot feature button.1) I have flashed the FSLED controller and everything seemed fine2) Under each AP switch I set my FS destination according to the AP feature e.g Alt HoldQuestion: Should I also include a LED destination in the switch section ? Some of the examples in FSBUS have an MCP.LED in the switch3) I added an LED under the AP feature and added the AP feature in the LED destination 4) I also did a FSLED random test to see if the LEDS work and none of them came on...I am using FSBUS Version 2.2 and checked voltage out of the PIC and it was OK5) I also have another problem...I can't get my FSDisp displays to display any radio frequencies ? All the LED's flashed fine and show '---.--' on the screen. I also did a display test on each CID and they did not show any numbers...just '---.--'Any help would be really great !...Many thanks...JB

Hi Jan:Thanks for your help. I will be honest with you..I am not very good with electronics and someone made my FSBUS system for me a couple of years ago. It has been working previously.Could you let me know what 'tests' to do to check each PCB to see if something is wrong ?Many thanks...JB

Sure, but when it works previously, what did you change? As Tuomos said: did you connect the leds right?Check this, to be sure.It can easy be done by change the wires. In brief, make small steps to find things out...Let me know..Good luck Jan.

Hi Jan/Tuomas:Did some work last night on the FSBUS system:1) The only thing I have done since it FSDISP and FSLED have stopped working properly is disconnect all PCB boards and cables to make a new moutning system. I had to much wiring mess all over the place. I plugged wires back into PCB's but I didn't put the ribbon cables from FSCOM to each board back in same place2)I checked the FSCOM last night but all I did was basic continuity checks between solder points on back side of PCB to see if anything broken3) My LED's are all conected correctly i.e. (-) to ground etc. I also checked the LED's by hooking up a 3V battery and they glowed nicely.4) I disconnected all the FSDISP wires to 7 segment displays except for one....re-flashed it and tried to do the LCD test but the digits did not change. Its funny because my FSKEY works just fine. If you could let me know what to check next I would be grateful ?Many thanks...JB

Jan and all:I now have another problem which has happened after I connected everything back together. All I have done is disconnected all the ribbon cables from FSCOM to PCB's and after I reconnected them all I now have nothing going to the PCB's....no FSDISP 7 segment displays, no FSKEY working. I have some questions if you can help me troubleshoot. 1) The RED LED is ON on FSCOM. The GREEN LED is ON on FSPOWER 2) I measured voltage going into FSCOM at 2 pin connector....this is 9V 3) I tried to measure voltage on the pins of the (5) 10-pin connectors which go to the PCBS. I got no voltage reading at all. I am not sure what is going on but now nothing works ??? I am happy to try troubleshooting but don't no where to start on this one.. Many thanks for your continued help. Jonathan

Hi Jan and all:1) I measured the voltage going into the regulator (7805) and this was 9V and had continuity2) Measured volts coming out (right pin and gnd) and this was 0 volts3) I have ordered new voltage regulator.4) What is the best method to confirm the regulator is failed ? Continuity checks across gnd and left/right pins ? What kind of resistance readings should I look for ?5) Also, FSPOWER is my voltage converter from 120V to 9V. The fella who built my FSBUS PCB's etc built me this alsoMany thanks for all your advice and our let you know if the new 7805 solves the problem.Thanks...JB

Jan:I took the voltage regulator off the PCB and measured voltage and now I get 5V from right pin ?? Anyone have any ideas why I couldn't get 5V when the voltage regulator was attached to PCB but when the regultor removed I got 5 V ?Many thanks for your help....JB

Hi Jan and all:1) Latest...I have new regulator installed and getting 5V out of right pin.2) I can FLASH the PICs for each board3) However, I can get no activity in the Router for each board4) I measured voltage at the FSCOM's 5 and 7 pins on the 10 pin connector which goes to each board....still no voltage.5) I have checked continuity of FSCOM PCB board and everything seems fine...I just don't know what else to checkHelp !!! Thanks...JB
