FSBUS NG : Problem with IO card

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,I started to build my 777 cockpit last year and I made the first version of FSBus Cards that work fine. Only some problems with LED card. Now I realized the new version, the FSBus NG. The COM card seems to be ok. The IO card have some problem. I Flashed with ponyprog2000 the firmware and after procedure I had success message..After that with FSBUSAdmin i Flashed the CID but now when I power on the card (when is connected to COM card) the green led does not display the CID.I have only long red blips that shows an error situation. I need help but I don't have an oscilloscope. What kind of checks can I do ?? Could be COM card error??Please help me...!!thanks a lot

Thanks Norbert for your answer...I'm going to check everything. regards

Well, I have made the IO board too this weekend. In contrary to the docs it is the red led that gives the CID.This has been confirmed on the German forum. After flashing and starting with admin, you will see 3 long and one short blip on the RED LED.regardsNorbert

Thanks Norberts, your advices are always precious.I think I have to check all again but seems to be really ok.Now I have flashed the firmware and the CID correctly but when I've connected a 12 position rotary SW it does not work in FSBrouter but in FSBAdmin works correctly so I think it doesn't depend on the IO card.regards

Did you create a DIswitch in the router? The normal switches are for the clasic FSkeyboard. Did you adjust FSRouter - NG only- classic only- both?Mine IO does also not work yet. I can flash and change cid, but nothing on the switches happens in the test window.Norbert

Thanks Norbert,I've created a Digital Input Rotary Object in FSBUSRouter(for my 12stage rotary switch) and now works fine. It was my mistake....All that I have to do now is testing leds..Thank again

Well Norbert,If you are 3 long blips and 1 short blip on the red led means that you are flashed correctly the firmware. Now you can change the CID with FSBUSAdmin but before you have to close the jumper J16. This is a protection for unaspected flashing error.Perhaps this jumper was not present in the first board layout. Dirk told me to make an upgrade.Another important fact is to set carefully the configuration and security bit in PonyProg before flashing the firmware. After all you can proceed setting the Keytype for each Keynumber. If you reset the board by the Reset Red Button in FSAdmin, you can see in the Test Keys window on the right all default settings. Now you can set as you want the switch/rotary. But remember to close J16 before.regards

Thanks for the advice.I already checked all that and double checked it again.Several other Dutch builder have exact the same problem as I have, we use the dame pcb's professionally made and the same components. We all use a 22 ohm resistor instead of the 100 muH Coil. So first what I am going to do is change that resistor for the coil.regardsNorbert

May be that Norbert,in fact I have mounted a little 100muH coil..

Well, we found the problem. There is a mistake in the layout of IO board version 20060218. Pin3 of IC2 should be connected to the ground according to the schematic in the pdf file. But if you look at IO.LAY you will see that in fact it isn,t.I connected pin 3 to pin 8 and everything works OK now.Regards Norbert

I have the same problem with 12 position switches, now you are speaking about J16 that's not mentioned on IO manual.Could you please tell me more about this jumper TanksAmbro

J16 is the last modification on the IO board. It is on version 20061218.You must set the jumper to flash and to test/modify in fsadmin. The green led will light when the jumper is set. When evrything is ok remove it. No jumper is the normal working mode for fsbus.exe (router sw)regardsNorbert

Tanks a lot Norbert, now the rotries are working fine. Do you know something about the led? While i can light them via FSADMIN DO test, nothing happen when i try to light them with FSROUTER DO/LED test. Is it a problem with the router ?Thank youAmbro

Hi Ambro,You can connect Leds or Lamps on both PortA and PortB as digital output that are J4 and J5 connector. The corrent on these ports may not exceed 500mA per bit. Leds usually need 20mA so are ok.Before, you must close the jumpers J14 (for PortA) and j15 (for PortB) to ground as indicated in the attached image.regards
