April 30, 200620 yr Hi guys,I have found a way to use SIOC on top of FSBUS, thus providing the option to add extra logic to an existing FSBUS implementation! You can now, for example, add Lights Tests, and tests for Cold And Dark cockpit state quite easily. This new way has been succesfully implemented and tested by Ian Cameron.Your FSBUS implementation only needs to read from a new offset (a simple change in the ini file). SIOC will do the rest.Read more at my website, NOTAM April 30.Best Regards,Nicowww.nicokaan.nl
April 30, 200620 yr Interesting idea.Of course, you are also aware that FSBUS has a pretty good logic system in itself too?//T
April 30, 200620 yr Author If you mean CCC, yes I know. But this aproach is particularly useful in mixed technology implementations.I made it on special request by Ian. He can now protect his investment in FSBUS, while expanding in SIOC... Nicowww.nicokaan.nl
April 30, 200620 yr Yep, this makes sense.Especially with the new USB based modules that the opencockpit guys are making, it becomes handy. A switch or potentiometer in FSBUS can then "pass along" the data to SIOC which moves a DC motor for example. Good point!//Tuomas

April 30, 200620 yr CoolGreat news , NicoPlease correct me if i am whrongActualy Fsconvert needed only with LVL-D as far i can understand?OC modules via SIOS can negotiate with FSbus direct by Fsiupc offsetsIs that so?Regards
April 30, 200620 yr >Actualy Fsconvert needed only with LVL-D as far i can>understand?Yes.>OC modules via SIOS can negotiate with FSbus direct by Fsiupc>offsetsYes. You can choose any "not used" offset, for example, if you don't use Project Magenta yourself, you can use all the Project Magenta offsets for your own stuff. So these offsets are like small "buckets of information" that can be passed between FSBUS and IOCards (or whatever other hardware you might have that lets you put values into FSUIPC)//Tuomas
