CRT + Old overhead projector = ?

Featured Replies

Has anyone tried this combination?I'm thinking about disassembling an old overhead projector - it has a thick glass plate which seems to be coupled to a fresnel somehow - and experimenting with setting up a CRT under it, where it would be projected (albeit probably pretty dimly) onto a screen through the original optics of the overhead projector. But I thought I'd ask in case anyone had tried it.I did see a few posts but they generally involved either a 640 x 480 built-in LCD or an LCD placed onto the glass. Thanks,Andrew

The problem with CRT's is that they don't have light passing trough them, like LCD's (wich are basicly overhead cheets that change color).CRT's emit light themselves, and I don't see how you could make this work with an overhead projector

What about a CRT projector?? They are those with like with 3 light bulbs RED, BLUE AND GREEN... Have anyone tried those out?? Roberto

>CRT's emit light themselves, and I don't see how you could>make this work with an overhead projectorWell, placing it in the place of the light-emitting bulb-and-transpacency-plate.But I don't think it will work, it is not bright enough. Using a fresnel with a monitor will give you a better quality image with the same budget.//Tuomas

Those have very powerfull CRT's in them, emitting light you don't want to stare into :)That's what makes them so expensive as well
