  1. Just came back to BATC after several months. Clearance included radar vectors on departure, but none were given.
  2. I am looking at this addon, and haven't found the answer in the manual... Can we add user holds and HILPTs? TIA
  3. Wow. I was just searching to see what was going on with the software. So sad.
  4. Figured it out! Paradoxically, using the FSUIP7 MSFS Launcher successfully launches MSFS... but does not start FSUIPC? Anyway - I started FSUIPC, then used the FSUIPC desktop launcher for MSFS, and P2A connects successfully now. By the way - is there a newer setup guide? The one I downloaded is from 5/21/2020 and doesn't match my interface. TIA
  5. Ok - tried it out, but got the same error.
  6. Hi Dave - thanks - will do.
  7. Hi all- Using MSFS. I'm trying to get Pilot2ATC working; I bought it a few years ago but never really used it much. I have no problem starting it up, and have 2.7.02 installed. When trying to connect to FSUIPC (current), I get the following error and am not sure how to troubleshoot this... TIA
  8. Needed to connect to re-up my license this morning. Didn't work, & got a bit console full of errors. I tried to get to the x-aviation site, but it's timing out, so I can't reach it. Any known issues? TIA
  9. For starters, I installed the Garmin Trainer on my D drive... I'm asking how the RXP equipment finds the correct data.
  10. Depending on which version of the GNS530 you have installed , the worldwide.bin file may be in the Garmin\GNS Trainer\GNS\db folder.. I have the newest version(s) of the 530 and 430... How can I point it to the right Trainer installation? I recall seeing setting somewhere (I'll look again) but not sure where I saw that, or how to change if I move the Trainer installation.
  11. Hi Bert - thanks - where do I actually put it, though?
  12. Ah... the instructions are from the first page of this thread, written by Jean-Luc.
  13. Renewed IP lease on iPad... good to go.
  14. Ok, anyone else? Cannot get X-Plane to connect to my iPad for more than thirty seconds or so, then it seems to be random when it will connect again... 1 minute... 6 hours... Can anyone else offer any suggestions? Hopefully it's something simple, but I still have zero issues connecting to FSX and P3D, so I know my wireless is working properly.
  15. Hi all, I'm having 3 main issues with the X-Plane version of this (and other issues with the FSX version...) 1) I can't properly calibrate toe brakes... this thing simply careens all over the place. I'm using Saitek pedals. 2) When I mouse over controllable knobs, the whole panel "jumps" around a bit. Very annoying. 3) The plane starts moving or rotating in place. Even with the parking brake on, it starts rotating. Any ideas?
  16. Thanks guys! Clutch - wasn't even aware of a new version. I'll check that out. cheers Andrew
  17. Hi all, I have an issue where after a computer restart, my Saitek Radio Panel works as expected when running SPAD. However, if I quit FSX (or P3D for that matter), the display won't work again until a computer restart. That said, it's still being read, as it still changes radio frequencies (at least in the SPAD utility.) Anyone know how to fix? Thanks
  18. Hi Bruce, Thanks for the help. I haven't set up any aircraft-specific profiles yet, but think I should as I typically fly a few different aircraft. I'll follow your guidance here & see how it goes. Cheers Andrew
  19. Hi everyone, I fly a few planes that use toe-brake steering. Having some trouble figuring out how to calibrate; rudders work fine in the air but drastically oversteer on the ground and I end up weaving around a lot. Also - the plane I fly the most (Alabeo DA40) seems to have too much toe brake friction, but I assume that could be adjusted? Rudder steering should not work at low speeds, but does. I have the paid version of FSUIPC if that might help, but I'm pretty new to it. Any help appreciated! thx Andrew
  20. Well, with VR that either has a built-in camera or sensors elsewhere, they can superimpose the position of your hands. That said, ideally, you have a physical dashboard full of knobs and switches that matches the positions of the ones in the sim, and the VR system allows you to "see" your hand reaching out and turning knobs that you actually feel. Better yet, you have a home cockpit with a greenscreen outside the cockpit. The VR goggles have stereo vision, which lets you see everything, but replaces greenscreen with out-the-window views. That would probably be best.
  21. Hi Vic, I agree, but only to a point: Smoothness is absolutely important. But below a certain framerate (and my machine is sometimes right on that border) there isn't going to be much that helps make, say, a 10 fps framerate acceptable, smooth or otherwise. I'll probably back off the autogen a little bit to see what happens, but I don't have enough knowledge of the sim to know what's really going to make a big impact. I don't have too much in the way of add-ons; a few aircraft and Active Sky, but AS actually seems to increase framerates. Planning on adding the Flight1 Tech 530, but have found very little on it.
  22. Hi again- No offense intented; it was only because you mentioned "framewatchers at it again" as if that's a negative thing - in your case, it apparently was a source of stress. With 40 fps and smooth performance, there isn't as much of a compelling reason to watch framerates. However, I don't have as powerful a machine, and have (seemingly) found something that's working - but don't know what it is. (And this is with an addon aircraft which on its own seems to take 5-10 fps away vs. stock aircraft.) As noted, even small performance changes on an older, relatively slow machine can be significant. I'm trying to understand what benefits my set up the most.
  23. Hi Yashigashi - Ok - Not sure why it concerns you... It's not a sim running at 57fps and someone trying to get it to 62 that's the issue (at least, not in this case); it's that spot between choppy and smooth, which, in this case, is the issue - 14 fps vs. 24, or, even 18 vs. 24 - which makes a big difference.
  24. ? Not sure why it bugs you... On a low end machine, 5 fps can make a big difference in the smoothness of the sim.
  25. Just to see where I was with my current settings, I set up to fly from KSNA up and over KLAX, and found that while it did "spike down" to 10-12 fps once in a while, most of the time it stayed in the 17-20 fps range. That's with autogen fully right... hmmm.. Think I'll back up my config
