May 15, 201610 yr Hi everyone, I fly a few planes that use toe-brake steering. Having some trouble figuring out how to calibrate; rudders work fine in the air but drastically oversteer on the ground and I end up weaving around a lot. Also - the plane I fly the most (Alabeo DA40) seems to have too much toe brake friction, but I assume that could be adjusted? Rudder steering should not work at low speeds, but does. I have the paid version of FSUIPC if that might help, but I'm pretty new to it. Any help appreciated! thx Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
May 15, 201610 yr Hi Andrew - Do you use aircraft specific profiles in FSUIPC? I assign my rudders "DIRECT" to FSUIPC cal, then calibrate the rudder axis and the two brakes in FSUIPC, then I set a slope of between 1 - 3 depending on the airplane. I can post the FSUIPC.ini if needed but you can do all this from the add on menu interface. All the FSX airplanes I fly have steerable nose gear or power NWS but in the light GA I use toe brakes to assist tight turns on taxi. -Bruce [CPL] : I9-9900K @5.0GHz HT ON, Maximus XI Hero, ASUS TUF RTX4080 OC, 32GB DDR4 3200 14, 1TB NVMe SSD, 500GB SSD, 1TB HDD, 40" Samsung 4K TV, Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Logitech Rudder Pedals, WIN11
May 15, 201610 yr Author Hi Bruce, Thanks for the help. I haven't set up any aircraft-specific profiles yet, but think I should as I typically fly a few different aircraft.I'll follow your guidance here & see how it goes. May 15, 201610 yr I struggled with FSUIPC initially but now I'm pretty good at it. Let me know if I can assist. Your final FSUIPC4.ini file should have some lines that look like this: (only relevant lines listed)[General]ShortAircraftNameOk=SubstringUseProfiles=Yes[JoyNames]AutoAssignLetters=YesA=CH Fighterstick USBA.GUID={DACE02F0-3C2C-11E5-8001-444553540000}B=Saitek Pro Flight YokeB.GUID={23B97E30-1B54-11E5-8001-444553540000}C=Saitek Pro Flight Rudder PedalsC.GUID={84934DC0-8257-11E5-8001-444553540000}0=CH Fighterstick USB0.GUID={DACE02F0-3C2C-11E5-8001-444553540000}1=Saitek Pro Flight Yoke1.GUID={23B97E30-1B54-11E5-8001-444553540000}2=Saitek Pro Flight Rudder Pedals2.GUID={84934DC0-8257-11E5-8001-444553540000}[Profile.Archer]1=PA-28 Archer METALBLUE[Axes.Archer]RangeRepeatRate=100=BX,256,D,1,0,0,01=BY,256,D,2,0,0,02=BZ,256,D,4,0,0,03=BV,256,D,6,0,0,04=CX,256,D,7,0,0,05=CY,256,D,8,0,0,06=CR,256,D,3,0,0,0[JoystickCalibration.Archer]SteeringTillerControl=0MaxSteerSpeed=80Aileron=-16384,-512,512,16383/8Elevator=-16384,-512,512,16383/8Mixture=-16384,16128/8Throttle=-16384,16383/8Rudder=-16384,-512,512,16383/8SlopeRudder=0LeftBrake=-16384,16383/24RightBrake=-16384,16383/24SlopeLeftBrake=2SlopeRightBrake=2 [CPL] : I9-9900K @5.0GHz HT ON, Maximus XI Hero, ASUS TUF RTX4080 OC, 32GB DDR4 3200 14, 1TB NVMe SSD, 500GB SSD, 1TB HDD, 40" Samsung 4K TV, Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo, Logitech Rudder Pedals, WIN11
