bbuckley's post in Saitek Pro Yoke green mode / clock screen was marked as the answerOK just to close this out as a reference for others... The issue was the PC sleep function. For some reason after I completely shut down the PC and power supply for a week, on return I fired up, and the PC wasn't correctly going to sleep after an hour. The display was turning off after 30 mins as I had set but the PC wasn't in sleep mode. Even with all the USB Power Management boxes unchecked, when my PC goes to sleep mode, the USB controllers (all attached to a powered 2.0 hub) all turn off. They come alive on wake and I've not had any issues with FSX recognition.

bbuckley's post in FullScreen goes completely Black was marked as the answerThanks Steve! I was able to work around in another way... It seems the issue is that the PE Client puts a window up "always on top" of fullcreen FSX as a PE transponder for Mode C / IDENT and some other indicators. In DX9 that wasn't an issue, but apparently it is in DX10 (I'm on Win 8.1). I suspect the IVAO issue is the same. My workaround (for anyone who runs into the problem) was to uncheck that option in PE and program a button through FSUIPC4 to do the IDENT function.
Thanks for your support and so far the DX10 and Fixer graphics and (performance on my machine) are awesome.

THANKS! I now see the pattern. The hardest part was rebuilding the .cab file. At first I tried creating a standalone gauge and .cab but that didn't work so just editing the ToggleCARG1000 xml and rebuilding the EMBCAR.cab did work. This is great, thanks again,
