I am considering a 737NG sim.I have done a lot of research and red all the forums. My first question is...Which interface is the best, most supported and easist to setup.I am not a programmer but do know a bit about electronics, and setting up pc's etc.I have seen usb keyboard interfaces, i know these only allow imputs but i have no idea of how to get them to work with a toggle switch instead of momentary ones.I have not seen an good enough explanation of how to get these types of switches to work with flightsim without having to use software like project magenta.second question is, do i need project magenta? or can FS2004 or FSX do the job. Can the systems be replicated by creative wiring etc? Thanks for any advice you may have.Gareth

I'm sure, if you have read ALL the forums, you wouldn't have to ask these questions .. then again, who can do such a thing ? :(Anyway, interfaces are relative. Some like these for this & that, some like others for different reasons. My personal favo is IOcards. Why ? Because you can order finished & tested prints or solder kits for price without profit. They are all via USB. One card does not require the other. Feedback is there and software is updated from time to time. It's my choise but others chose FSbus, others again chose PHCC, ... etc.

Gareth:I came across this thread about interfacing on the Flight Deck Solutions forum:http://tinyurl.com/2h67pjThe thread includes some tips for 737 builders. Good luck with your project!

>I am considering a 737NG sim.>>I have done a lot of research and red all the forums.>My first question is...>>Which interface is the best, most supported and easist to>setup. My advice: consider the Level-D 767-300, currently the only add-on on the market that comes with a SDK (Software Development Kit). With my freeware program FSCONV this interface is available as new FSUIPC offsets. Almost every switch, rotary, led, 7-segment display in the panel can be interfaced. No need for Project Magenta. And like Philippe said: as interface system I'd also recommend IOCards with SIOC as programming language. Hardware is cheap, reliable, you can buy it already assembled and tested or build it yourself, it's mature technology, good support via their Forum, and (most important) very powerful programming capabilities with their SIOC system (free). This combination, FSUIPC with SIOC, gives you a real computer-computer interface, no clumsy interfacing with key2mouse clicks or key generation (like we used to do in the previous century ;-) ).But have a look at my sim at www.nicokaan.nlMy 2 cts.Nicohttp://www.nicokaan.nl
