October 7, 200223 yr I'm confused. Bear reviewed a sailplane (Grob 115E) in his latest picks. However, the Grob would appear to be a prop plane and NOT a sailplane??
October 8, 200223 yr You are right to be confused... so am I :-) Must be a mix-up somewhere.... I am sure Steve will comment once the sun comes up in the West ;-) :-outta Francois :-wave

"At home in the wild"[link:avsim.com/alaska/alaska_052.htm|Don's Alaskan Bush Charters]"Beavers Lead the Way"[link:www.avsim.com/vfr_center/mainpages/vfr_flights_main_page.htm]VFR Flight Center]"Looking Good Outside"

http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/logo75b.gifhttp://www.fssupport.com/images/moose2.gif

________________________Francois A. October 8, 200223 yr If not mistaken, the Grob is a selfpowered Sailplane. What that means it does have an engine but is only used to take-off. No towplane is required. After takeoff the engine is shutdown. And a glidin' you will go.:-outtahttp://publish.hometown.aol.com/p3superb/images/675-2fs.jpg
October 8, 200223 yr If you really want to know...look here: http://www.grob-aerospace.de/And Steve has explained it in a revised Bears Pick now too.... :-outta Francois :-wave

"At home in the wild"[link:avsim.com/alaska/alaska_052.htm|Don's Alaskan Bush Charters]"Beavers Lead the Way"[link:www.avsim.com/vfr_center/mainpages/vfr_flights_main_page.htm]VFR Flight Center]"Looking Good Outside"

http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/logo75b.gifhttp://www.fssupport.com/images/moose2.gif

________________________Francois A. October 9, 200223 yr Considering that I have over 1,200 aircraft on my harddrive, it is to be expected that occasionally a mix-up can occur. Usually it is not a problem, because I am pretty aware of most aircraft, but there are still some that I have never heard of or seen and this contributed to the error here. All is corrected now, so I suggest you check back at my mini-review and read about Dave Garwood's terrific Grob 115E!Bear!
October 10, 200223 yr This "foot-in-mouth" disease was sure catchy. I apologize for making my previous statement, it was based on an incorrect assumption.
October 11, 200223 yr WOW, after removing the foot from my mouth. I guess I was mistaken, and I too got the aircraft mixed up. My appologies.:-outtahttp://publish.hometown.aol.com/p3superb/images/675-2fs.jpg
