Hi, New Cfs3 Screenshots the latest are the first 14 one, not extremly happy with the terrains, clouds resolution looks ok (probably of the frame rate issue), fx and sky environment is excellent.http://www.microsoft.com/games/combatfs3/screens.aspThanksChris Willis[link:fsw.simflight.com/FSWMenuFsSim.html]Clouds And Addons For MsFshttp://fsw.simflight.com/fsw.jpg

Whislt I agree there is nothing ground-breaking (sorry about the pun) in the terrain engine, at least the sim will sit well next to FS2002, at least for the upcoming 12 months. After all, if CFS3 made huge leaps forward in terrain rendering technology compared to FS2002, then I for one would be pretty disappointed every time I went to boot up FS2002!

Chris, there are lots of improvements and overall they're pretty good. But there's still one huge, huge problem - one that we're only too well aware of. In some shots the textures are crisp. But others show very obvious blurred textures, almost certainly dynamic blurred textures. This is very disappointing. It's almost as if Microsoft simply aren't aware of the problem. One amusing thing. It looks like where roads cross over rivers there are autogen bridges. However, in the shot the river touches the road and then turns away, so the road doesn't actually cross the river. And yet autogen still added a bridge! Let's keep our fingers crossed that in the next few weeks Microsoft finally tame the blurred textures monster - but I'm not very optimistic.... Best regards, Chris Wright

Also nice: the blueish horizon effect. Adds some depth to the terrain.
