I can only plead the term "homey" is not in common usage where I live, North Wales, hence my ignorance.Slightly off topic but concerning the use or misuse of words, I heard a story concerning Webster of dictionary fame. While his dictionary was being compiled, Mrs. Webster entered his study only to find him in a compromising position with one of his female assistants.
