February 18, 200620 yr Ladies and Gentlemen, After months of planning and nearly non stop working and communications with the Real Pan Am (yes they still exsist) we opened the doors of PanAmVA to the virtual pilots of VATSIM on JAN 29th, 2006. Since then we have a growing roster of over 30 pilots and we hope to open a new hub next month. Who are we? We are Pan Am fans who try to capture the grace and legacy of Pan American World Airways and return the "Queen of the skies", to the Virtual Skies. What do we fly? Our Fleet consists of as many of Pan Ams origional fleet that we could find! We fly the historic prop-liners like the Boeing 377 Stratocruiser, the classical Pan Am jets like the Boeing 707 and PanAmVA has commissioned a fleet of Modern "Glass Cockpit" Jets like the A320 and Boeing 747-400. Why PanAmVA over the rest? Firstly, VA's are not in competition with each other over who has more pilots. But if you are looking for a VA that belongs to the Pilots, PanAmVA is for you! Our Democracy Policy requires that the Pilots of the VA have the final descision on changes within the VA, so much so that even if there is a staff member who is not pulling his/her wheight, the pilots have the power to remove this staff member from their position, EVEN the CEO is subject to this! Why do we allow our pilots the power to remove staff? Because we belive that you will be happy with our excellent staff that we have! And if you arent, then why shouldnt you be able to do somthing about it? On that note, The First VOTE at PanAmVA was completed last week and the Pilots have decided, the Concorde shall be added to our Fleet as of next week! Our doors and E-mails are open and our pilots are free to express any and all concerns that they may have! Our Pilots are free to fly wherever they like, whenever they like. While we provide a flight schedule and we are developing a dynamic dispatch system for the conveniance of our Pilots, our pilots are not bound by it. This means that our Pilots are free to fly where they see ATC is online and not be restricted. Not Sure how to Fly a STAR? Dont know why that "little yellow light" keeps flashing? Shoot an E-mail to our training Director who has been helping REAL WORLD pilots during past few months. Our training department is ready and willing to help with questions and will even provide one on one training in a multiplayer session. We belive that behind every good pilot is a good foundation of knowledge and we hope to help provide that foundation. Check us out today at: www.panamva.com
