New American Texture for Mike Stone's B727

Featured Replies

Hi Simmers,Well here is another Texture for Mike Stone's B727 - this one is an American Airlines Livery - not certain that I have got it right as I just applied the stripes/tail logo and gave her a bit of a shine - what do you think.......http://www.gjsmith.com/images/B727-AA-3.jpghttp://www.gjsmith.com/images/B727-AA-2.jpgShe is available at:http://www.gjsmith.com/textures/b727.htmOver 250 Free Textures now on:http://www.gjsmith.com/textures/by-type.htmWith now more than 250 free textures and 60 other textures for personal use, I was wondering to myself what magic number I have to achieve for texture releases before I am considered for one of those great awards from the various major FS sitesThen again, maybe I need to still improve the level of quality on my textures!!!! - criteria sure beats me - but it would be nice to know what I must achieve to be qualified to meet the high level criterion and that I am providing an appropriate service to the FS community. (Just wondering aloud)Happy simming to you allGarry J. Smith at http://www.gjsmith.comAircraft Texture Tinkererhttp://www.gjsmith.com/images/GJS-banner.gif

Heh :) Looks pretty dam good to me! Only thing I think needs attention is the tail, havent looked at airliners.net yet but I think there are a few panels that are different colors or metal textures, otherwise she is a beauty and you are one of the better painters out there, no doubt in my mind :)Hornit heres what Im talking about :)http://www.flightsimmers.net/airport/hornit/aa1.jpghttp://www.flightsimmers.net/airport/hornit/aa2.jpg

OK Hornet,Got it - even more reflective effects to do - great!!!!! - will get onto that and post an alternative tail shortly for the little lady.Might have to revist the back of the fuselage as well as I carried the stripes through to the end......RegardsGarry J. Now that is Sweeeeet! I like the bluish hue, it really does look like this in real life. Nice job on the tail, hard to beleive you did it that fast too! This is a perfect example of how developers/modelers/painters and users can get along, just thought I would add that. This forum DOES work for these kinds of things and its totally and perfectly appropriate as long as its done professionally and courteously. Well done, and THANK YOU! This one is definitely going in my aircraft file.hornit

Glad I could hit the mark and get it right for you - The speed is attributed to effort, some good methodologies and tools, BUT particularly because of my posting the textures to my site and being able to change them rapidly. If I had published this to the AVSIM or other download areas it would take days for this type of feedback and response. So I guess that because I prefer to service the community via my independant site that I will never get their recognition or awards - well I guess I just have to live with that as I prefer the methods I use to provide my services.Happy SimmingGarry J. Hi Garry,Fantastic job ! Just a small question...I tried to download the Lufthansa livery by clicking on one of the relevant screenshots but ended up with the RAAF livery instead...Any suggestions? Thanks Twister

Click on the underlined text in the Downloads side of the columns - the one marked B727-Lufthansa.zip - The images should be linked to larger versions of the image. Will check the links on the images - regardsGarry J.
