Dash 8 (or other versions in fact) question.

I am aware that asking to compare a flight model with the real thing is always a little silly, but I would like to know if any of you can perform a manual approach on such a/c... I have the hardest time aligning and the rudder action, that I use in GA a/c for that purpose, seems very limited.Do pilots use Charlie systematically? Or is it that I need to go to school? Is the Dash's rudder that sluggish? Thanks.

Make sure your yaw damper is off if you want full rudder control. One thing I did notice is that the rudder is a bit weak for single engine ops. Not enough authority there to keep it straight on one engine below 150 knots. I adjusted the rudder effectiveness in the Aircraft config file from 1.0 to 2.5. This allows for more realistic single engine performance.Cheers,JR
