Looking for VA - Which VA is your favorite?

Hi all,I am looking for a VA to join, but am not sure which one - there are a lot of them out there...Here is what I am looking for:- I am new to online flying, so a VA with basic pilot training/intro docs would be nice (does anybody have any links to intros independent from VAs?).- I use FS2004, so it should be a VA with 2004-tested or even 2004-developed airplanes- I am more familiar with prop planes than jets, so there should be at least some (maybe smaller) prop airplanes in the fleet- West coast as (main) area of operations would be nice also (California, etc), maybe Hawaii?- Do all VAs allow online and offline (just file Pirep) flights, or are some of them only one or the other? And finally - which one do you like best and you think I should join for whatever reason - which one is most fun, best airplane models, etc???Give me some ideas :)Thanks!MARK

Hi Mark, I don't know much about virtual airlines, and the one that I did join, TexasAir.us, has disappeared. I can recommend a group that will provide all the planes that you enjoy flying. (I'm in the same groove.)Tom Gibson has a website and forum called California Classics. http://www.calclassics.com . He and a group of experienced designers build freeware models and paints of propliners that flew in and out of California from the late 1930's to the 1970's. (i.e. CV-240, 340, 440, DC-6A,B,C, DC-7A,B,C Martin 404's, B-377 Stratoliners, etc.) The models are beautiful. The Convairs received awards from AVSIM. He's in the process of correcting the flight dynamics files for FS9, but the planes are flyable as-is, with a couple of aircraft.cfg edits.Like I said, it's not a virtual airline, but it is an amazing source for information if you want tips for the prop liners, or real schedules of old airlines in and around California. Yours,Randy :)http://www.dailygrindrc.com/bhcn597bh.gif

Hi Mark,Take a look at Big Bear Air Service. We are a small bush flying VA based in Alaska. We are mainly a charter service but are expanding into the commuter market. So far we have some commuter routes in AK and in October will have some in the Pacific Northwest. We fly mosty small single engine aircraft but do have a couple of commuter aircraft but nothing bigger than a Fokker F27-500. No jets at all. We have an optional pilot training program and right now all flights are offline but you could fly them online if you want. We will be starting a regular group fly-in on Bushnet in the near future. We are very laid back and do not have very many rules. Good place to get started in VAs. We support both FS2002 and Fs2004. Check us out.http://www.bushalaska.comFrank SeiglerAdministratorBig Bear Air Service
