October 4, 200223 yr guy or gal: Please send me the fs2002.exe from the EXE folder on CD1 of the German version of FS2002 Professional. Should be 188KB I think. Not too sure though, the CD seems kinda scratchy... *:-*[email protected] THANKS :-hahEtienne
October 4, 200223 yr Nobody can send it to you--legally. FS2002.exe is encrypted on CD, then decrypted during installation. In order to get it set up right, you have to run the installation again from CD. Just copying the file from CD won't work. I also suspect every individual FS2002.exe is serialized so Microsoft can track piracy.-John
October 4, 200223 yr Author do it. During FS2002 installation, there comes an error message telling me that fs2002.exe cannot be copied. I should check if there's enough disk space etc. Three buttons, Cancel, Retry and Ignore. So I pressed Ignore because I thougt I could copy it later manually. But that doesn't work either. So should this mean I can purchase FS once more or what just coz such a damn file!?
October 4, 200223 yr Etienne, have you uninstalled FS2002 totally... nothing remained on your registry before re-installing it?The only other thing I could think about is your CD being damaged, but I'd try and uninstall first (certainly now that you did a partial install ! ) :-outta Francois :-wave________________________Francois A. October 4, 200223 yr As Francois says, delete everything.... This should include the registration entry for FS2002... I suspect the install may be picking up that entry, and perhaps using it as a way of preventing a double-install.
October 4, 200223 yr Also - try turning off your virus checker during installation. They sometimes interfere with encrypted compressed files.
October 5, 200223 yr Author Thanks for those hints. Well I tried to uninstall, but the uninstall.exe was overwritten by some add-on. Tried again using the CD, but that did not work cause the uninstaller crashed. But yeah I did then just delete the FS2002 folder, so the reg keys are most likely still there... I gotta search a bit and delete 'em.Thank you :DEtienne
October 5, 200223 yr Author Hehe, gurus, you're the BEST :-hah!!!Well, the uninstall from the CD did not crash, but just uninstall. This time I let it for some time and finally there came the box telling 'FS2002 successfully uninstalled'... :-hah Just threw in the CD1 and installed it, no problems, no damaged CD. *:-*LOTSA Thanks for the help!!! :DEtienne :-wave
