Avsim online is is a fantasic concept for flight simulation and you guys do a Bl---y wonderful job for us enthusiasts!but, do you not think now that the time may have arrived when you offer an up-graded membership for a nominal fee say

Oh man John, if you want to kick off a flame war... :)To set to rest your concerns about library performance; we are working on it. We are about to acquire another HONKING BIG server to move the library over to (and to separate the forums from the library by doing so). It has been our philosophy to put all of our income from advertising, and what have you, back into the system growth and performance. We are about to do that again with the new server. That and the opening of the file library mirror will greatly enhance service to the community, and bring server speeds back to where they belong.As for charging for access (even a "premier membership" type scheme), that is not in the cards. We don't believe in that, and have maintained from the outset of AVSIM that if we had to go that route, we would rather shut down entirely. The good news is that our advertisers, Exhibitions and Convention, and all the other fund raising we do, has allowed us to keep the doors open and continue to expand. We don't see that changing anytime soon, and the benefit is, free access to all.

(I saw a thread somewhere, recently, where some users were crying about sites limiting such practice.) Would it be possible for AVSIM to impose such a limit, if not done already? If the churlish louts object, let them get their files elsewhere!You and your team are doing a wonderful job under a large dose of duress!
