Here is how I get over the problem. When the yoke is in use, the keyboard sits on the small metal frame that slides from under the central monitor. Dont use the keyboard much, like yourself, I have the GoFlight units, and that pretty much covers all my keypresses. When finished flying, the keyboard drops back onto the desk, and the yoke slides into the space under the left monitor.Hope this gives you some ideas to work onRgdshttp://www.avsim.com/vfr_center/avsim_sig.jpg

Looks good,Anyway I think you have to release the Yoke to silde it to the left, right ? I was trying to find a way to have it always fixed...Thanks for the input !Ulisses

Here's my setup. I build the desk from particle board and covered it with laminate (Formica) for durability. It's got a higher desk for the monitor, scanner, etc. with a lower protruding shelf for the keyboard, throttle and mouse. All in all it's a pretty simple rig, but it works great for me.

I also have 2 GoFlight racks aside the monitors (thinking of going for the new floor console). I use a right-handed "desk-return"; sort of a mini-desk on my right and slightly lower than the main desk. On it, I use a wireless mouse and keyboard; really nice to get rid of those restricting wires. This works well for me as I can then still use the keyboard for anything not handled by the GoFlight; also, a slight turn to the right permits me full use of the keyboard for normal text entry.The only drawback in using wireless stuff is the need to replace 2 AA batteries in the mouse about once a month. Mine is a Logitech unit that I find works very well; neither the mouse nor the keyboard need to be pointed towards the receiver to work and it all works off the USB buss along with the GoFlight stuff, my modem, and a high speed hard drive, as well as the Flight Yoke and pedals.;)
