Debonair and tail-number?

Featured Replies

How do I change the tail-number of the Debonair? When I changed it in FS2002, ATC recognizes the new number, but the same Nxxx number shows on the actual 3D aircraft model. I want to change it to a European tail-number.I've had similar problems with a few other airplanes, but with most of them, just changing it in FS2002 works fine.

Jimmi,Unless the airplane is designed to allow changing the 'physical' tail number, you will not see the change.I believe that the Deb is one of those that does not. You will find that most of the ones with fully graphic tail numbers do not change. Look at the difference in the tail numbers between the MS default Cessna and the Deb. You will probably see what I mean.

You have to do a repaint ;-)

and how do I do a repaint exactly? :) Never done that but I guess I could try...

Use the program DXTBmp (from this site or flightsim I believe) to open the extended omage bitmaps the debonair uses, extract the main bitmap to a decent paint program and go at it, load the new scheme back in to DXTBmp and save as an extended image, make sure the save dialog states DXT3 with alpha as the file type.. If you do stat repainting and get stuck with DXTBmp, I can help you with better details. You can email me at [email protected]
