You said you upgraded. How?Did you just swap mobo and proc, kept the boot drive and any other drive, or did you format, reinstall, etc?VERY IMPORTANT if you want quality help.Best,bt

First of all let me thank you for your help... I admit I was a "bit" vague. To answer your question, I just swaped the mobo, the processor and the graphics card and updated the corresponding drivers. I did not format nor reinstall anything because everything was working fine... except maybe FS2002.Feel free to ask for more information regarding my system.Once again thank you.Hugo

Chipset update...you know, the "intel".inf filesThat would be the first place I would look.Happened to me with an I850 to I850 update.Best,bt

Hugo,This article may help regarding framerates. Yours may be set too high. http://www.lagoonline.com/ENG/articoli/art_1.aspDo the studders happen during ATC transmissions? I had that problem until I, one, upgraged from an SB Live Gamer to SB Audigy Gamer sound card, and two, made sure the sound card was not sharing an IRQ with any other device. What's your hard drive specs? My HD Rotation speed is 7200rpm, and the hard drive transfer is Ultra ATA/133. Have you defragmented your hard drive lately?Richard

Hi,Braun, I followed your suggestion and checked the *.inf files, everything seemed OK but I installed the *.inf files from the CD that came with the Motherboard again (I checked the DFI.com site and they are the latest version), then I reinstalled DirectX 8.1 and the 29.42 drivers for the GF4 using Detonator Destroyer. Did some tweaks with Geforce Tweak Utility but nothing seems to work... the symptoms continue.Richard, I have my framerates set at 22 (I don

Sounds AGP to me. That is what happened with my I850 update. Some new "AGP something" on the mobo, that got added when I ran the latest update from Intel's site. Ran the update, saw the "gadget" get installed. My similar symptoms to yours went away...If you search the archives, I talked about it quite abit way back when.YMMVGood luck. The fact is, the PC should not perform this way. It IS a configuration problem, most likely HW. That would be my first diagnoses.Best,bt

I'm sorry Hugo. What I was referring to as a "gadget" was really the addition of a new system device in device manager, and it had to do with AGP.Plz excuse my "BraunSpeak" :) Here is what happened with my I850 P4T to I850 P4t-E upgrade. Swapped mobos, and went to FS2002. Stutters a plenty, just like you. FR fluctuates. HD was getting hit. I could do takeoff roll, and it was just like the second hand of a clock...every 15 seconds or so, the sim would "pause" for about .75 of a second. There were more symptoms, but immediately everything pointed towards HW config, but this made no sense, as I already had a I850 chipset configured and running on the old mobo. Finally, I decided to download the latest and greatest Intel.inf from Intel.com. After running the .inf update, and rebooting, the system found two or three new devices, and one of them pertained to the AGP system. After that, all the problems went away. This was an XP Pro setup.Hope this long-winded tome is of some help!Cheers,bt

Braun,Indeed your long-winded tome was of great help. Your "BraunSpeak" sometimes gets too difficult to understand for a rookie like me. You made it a lot clearer now ;) Instead of getting the "fabulous" *.inf files from the Mobo site (dfi.com) I followed your suggestion and got them from the chipset site (intel.com) and it SURE made a difference. Like you said after reboot it detected a lot of new devices and installed software for them... but I had a problem with one or two when the instalation stopped and it asked me to point where the drivers for these devices were... Windows couldn
