Starting FS add-ons from another Computer (using WideFS

Featured Replies

This may be one of those impossible situations :)I'm running some FS add-ons on another PC on a LAN, using WideFS. Is it possible to start/stop these addon applications from another PC which is running FS (and not the one that they are installed on)? Although the other PC has it's own monitor, it's hard to get access to it ("better half" uses it :) ).ThanksBruce.

Bruce,Download fsauto.zip and see if it can setup what you want. I don't know if you can start a program across the LAN with it or not. I guess the trick would be to start WideFS on the other computer, then let WideFS start those apps itself, then start FS on the local computer.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice. I'm thinking that this app is somewhere other then the AVSIM library, as I don't seem to be able to see it there?I'm assuming from your comments that this enables WideFS to actually start apps that are "talking" to FSUIPC via WideFS.Thanks again,Bruce.

Bruce,I just check the library and it is there. Try again fsauto.zip!

Not sure if this helps, but I use Remote Desktop in Windows XP all the time. Windows 2000 calls it Terminal Services, but in both cases it brings the other computers desktop to yours. Just my $.02.
