Hi, Had installed new drivers-41.09. I installed a scenery and noticed that graphics were strange. I was getting black boxes with little red light in the middle of box. These boxes were I believe the runway lights should be. I notice also that when lights on plane are flashing, these black boxes show up. I have lago "Georender3" and all through out the scenery are these tall square boxes. Even in the trees. So I had my hard drive formatted and had memory upgraded.I fire up flight simulator and I don't see this. I then install some scenery and here comes the boxes again. I thought that if I did an entire cleaning of computer would solve this problem. I made some setting adjustments, but still same problem. My graphics card is about 4 months old. I purchased it brand new. Can somebody please tell me what problem could be? Thank you so much, S.System specs:Amd Athalon 1800 xp+Windows MeNvidiaGeForce3Ti200 64mbMemory-5121.540 G.DDR RamThere is plenty of space on hard drive and plenty of memory.

One of the driver options is called Texture Sharpening. If this is enabled it will often cause the problem you're seeing. I'm not at a machine with a GEForce3/4 on it so I can't check for sure, but I think you'll find a checkbox to control this on the main driver tab under the advanced settings in the display properties. Can't hurt to check and see if this could be the problem.Doug

Greetings,I have been experiencing the exact same problem since I got my GF4 Ti4400. On my system I have been able to narrow the problem down to occuring when returning to FS2002 after a task switch. It occurs in all aircraft at all airports and with all driver versions I have tried thus far. This can be frustrating, because when running external software like FSMeteo, SquawkBox, etc., it is impossible to avoid task switching.I'm sorry, but up until now I have been unsuccessful in finding a solution. I have posted this problem in numerous locations and no one has yet been able to solve it.Doug, unfortunately this problem persits even when Texture Sharpening is turned OFF.Hopefully someone will be able to find a solution.Regards :-wave,Chris BrunnerCYVRAMD Athlon 1.33 GHz256 MB DDR RAMGF4 Ti4400 (41.09 drivers)

Well, you've got me thinking now Chris. When I first installed my 4200 last summer I had a similar experience to yours. But I can't now remember what I did to get rid of the little boxes. For sure though, if I can recall what the fix was I'll post it.Doug

Hi, Thanks so much for your help. The screenshot that has been posted here with black boxes around the lights is same problem that I have. I will do as suggested and check the texture sharpening to see if this is the problem and I will post back on my findings. Thanks, S.

Interesting. Unfortunately that didn't solve the problem for me. Does the problem return for you when yout task switch?
