Changing Video Card Drivers.

Featured Replies

I understand that even in XP, it's advisable to un-install previous drivers before installing new ones. Is this just a matter of deleting the video card in DM, then having the PC find it on re-boot? If so, is it then just a matter of direction the new driver wizard to the HD location with the new drivers? Thanks,Bruce.

Yes, go to the Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs menu, select the drivers, and remove. One insteresting thing is to open Windows Explorer Windowsinf folder and look at all the oemXX.inf files left on your system by updating drivers. The good ones have, at least, zero bytes but others are just hanging out taking up space.Which ones to delete is a mystery!
