After seeing quite a few posts about the Audigy and Windows XP as far as conflicts and issues go I figured I would post this here in hopes of helping some people. These tips are based on my experience as well as articles in magazines I read.First and foremost run over to Creatives website and DL the latest set of DRIVERS for the card. Also make sure you are running the latest BIOS for your particular motherboard as well as chipset drivers.Uninstall the card from your system. Buried within the Audigy CD is a special driver cleaning utility. It is on the installation CD in the AUDIODRIVERS folder and is called CTZAPXX.exe. Running this little program will remove all traces of older and current Creative drivers from your system. When you reboot the system and windows automatically detects the sound card cancel that installation before it finishes. Manually install the latest driver set you just DL'ed and you should be good to go.Hope this helps.BobbyP.S. I know this should have been posted in the hardware forum but due to the amount of issues I thought it better served posted here. The mods can move it if they choose. :)

what were the exact issues YOU were having that were fixed with the new drivers?...i installed new drivers for audigy2 about a month ago yet i still cant use hyperthreading due to the sound being messed up with HT enabled.by the way...i dunno if its the sound card causing this or not buti noticed that if i enable HT i only get half the fps in fs2002 as compared with HT disbaled...i havent noticed this huge performace loss in any other game yet though. I also noticed that with HT disabled my cpu idles at a much higher temp than with HT enabled (idles at 116F disabaled and 105F HT enabled)Dave

The new driver set addresses certain HT issues as well as sound issues. You have to remember that just because you have HT enabled there are a very small number of programs that actually support hyperthreading. Try the new drivers and see what happens. Try uninstalling the older set w the CD utility and than install the newer ones. FS2002 does not support HT. That will supposedly come w FS2004 COF.Below is a list of Driver updates:This release includes:This web update contains enhancements and fixes to improve the performance of your Creative Sound Blaster

Hi Bobby,"I know this should have been posted in the hardware forum but due to the amount of issues I thought it better served posted here."Actually, this is a prime example of the perfect tip to add to the Tips and Tricks forum (at the top of this regular forum). I'd appreciate it if you'd consider posting it there where others can easily find it in the future... This thread here in the general forum will be buried in a few days at most.If/when you post it to the Tips and Tricks forum, don't forget to add your keywords at the top of the post (not your subject line). Thanks Bobby,Elrond---MS Flight Simulator Tips and TricksEnthused AVSIM Peon - with minor Bucket and Mop duties (they only let me roam near the AVSIM toilets!)
