May 24, 200323 yr I am about to upgrade my GPU. And after reading alot of reviews I have decieded to fall off the nVidia wagon and catch a ride on the ATi cart. This is a big step for me as I have use nVidia since the TnT and have been very impressed. I have never had any luck with ATi cards, but I will trust what I have read. Here is the real question. I am looking at the Radeon 9500 Pro or the 9700 Pro... but I still keep looking at the Fx5600 out of the corner of my eye. For the additinal $80 is the money well spent on the 9700? or the Geforce FX?System specs. I plan on spending money this weekend if any one could offer advice I would be gratefull. Thanks [email protected] -.- . ...- .. -. May 25, 200323 yr I just upgraded from a TNT2 to an ATI 9500 Pro. From what I understand, the 9500 was developed after the 9700 to gain a foothold in the middle-end market. It's basically a modified 9700, and sells at about 60% of the cost.I'm quite happy with mine. It's a whole new world of flight-simming since I installed it.DaveAMD 1200512 ramATI Saphire 9500 Pro
May 25, 200323 yr Kevinforget about the gpu you need a new processor and if your motherboard aint up to it get a new onesave you hard earned cash and upgrade these first your fps will shoot up with the card you havesee this linkhttp://www.tomshardware.com/cpu/20030217/index.htmlyour existing card will cope with fs as it is and watch those frame rates flyyou'll get an xp 333fsb 2.6 or 2.8 with motherboard for less than you'll pay for the radion.
