June 4, 200322 yr Daniel,You might consider turning off your Caps Lock key. All caps convay that you are shouting. Just thought I'd let you know! Now, back to your problem, yes they are compatable to your card, but are they compatable to your operating system? That is what you need to check out. Also, a little more detail about what you did to install them may help us solve your problem.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
June 4, 200322 yr Thanks Jim....Taking the advice on turning caps off.....I downloaded the drives, installed them and a screen poped up that the drivers were not compatible with XP....continued the installation, curious thing, because I selected XP/2000 from the download menu...????Daniel
June 4, 200322 yr All that message means is that the drivers haven't gone through the MS WHQL certification process. It doesn't affect a thing. June 4, 200322 yr Doug:I alredy did that...and when I rebooted the display appeared in a 800x600 and like 16 colors....terrible resolution. Is there anything to configure after this..???Daniel
June 4, 200322 yr You now need to right-click anywhere on your desktop, then click on Properties/Settings and set the slider bar to the resolution you want.
June 5, 200322 yr There is also a great little freeware utility from EnTech that will let you change the resoultion, color depth, and refresh rate on the fly. http://www.entechtaiwan.com/files/multires.exeDoug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage. June 5, 200322 yr That sounds about right Daniel. There will not be a big difference, if any, between driver versions. In fact, some newer versions seem to actually perform worse than the old ones on some systems. And the MX series of Nvidia cards will drop off quickly at higher resolutions with AA enabled. One of the tricks with drivers seems to be to find the ones that are the best match for your system. I guarantee you that some versions will perform better than others - and the newer versions aren't necessarily the better versions. You just have to try several different sets. I'd start with the 30.82's and the 40.72's as they are very stable and work well across a wide range of hardware combinations. You may also want to try the AA at 2X and the AF at 4X as that is a pretty good compromise for speed vs. quality and doesn't look that bad on a good monitor. Keep experimenting, you'll find the right combination (although most of us are still looking :-) ).Doug Intel 10700K @ 5.1Ghz, Asus Hero Maximus motherboard, Noctua NH-U12A cooler, Corsair Vengeance Pro 32GB 3200 MHz RAM, RTX 2060 Super GPU, Cooler Master HAF 932 Tower, Thermaltake 1000W Toughpower PSU, Windows 10 Professional 64-Bit, 100TB of disk storage.
