June 28, 200322 yr Go to run and type gpedit.msc then.... user config>admin template>windows components>windows messenger it has 2 options, "do not allow windows messenger to be run" and "do not automatically start windows messenger initially"
June 28, 200322 yr It's worth mentioning that the Group Policy editor (gpedit.msc) isn't available in WinXP Home. July 2, 200322 yr Update! Thank's to Gosta, This is the correct path,Start Menu/Settings/Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services. Scroll down to 'Messenger' and under 'Startup Type', select 'Disabled'.
