on board sound use in FS... do I take a FR hit??

I have thought about this for that past couple of years and am finally trying to come to a conclusion. I currently run an AMD2100 1meg ram GIGAbyte mode with a GF4200. I utilize only headphones (midrange quality) and the onboard sound chipset. Occasionally I get a buzz or clicking, no big deal for me, but my real question is;Can I expect a frame rate increase by utilizing a sound card? If so, can you guess at a percentage? (5,10,15)thanks

Hi Mike,I'm not sure, if you'll see a noticeable increase in actual fps numbers, but you should see an improvement in performance, i.e. smoothness, as using a sound card should free up a few system resources.Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
