August 26, 200322 yr My inexpensive Gravis joystick died. It keeps going full up elevator and I've changed the potentiometer so it's got to be something else.Any recommendations for a new joystick? I'd like it to include throttle and rudder in the same unit. I'd also like it to be durable and precise. The CH Products stuff looks a little pricey:-eek and I'm not too hot on Gravis right now:-erks.The Logitech Extreme Digital 3D is what I'm looking at for about $35US. Does anyone have experience with it?Does anyone have experience with Saitek?
August 26, 200322 yr I have Saitek Cyborg 3D USB - great joystick. First it is very well made (have been using it for 3+ years) and has a very precise throttle with nice long throw. But in my opinion its biggest asset is the fact that I can simply rearrange everything (a hex wrench is provided) so I can hold the stick in my left hand and control the throttle with my right hand - I hate using the military style sticks in a civilian sim. I think Saitek Cyborg 3D is the only joystick on the market that allows you for such reconfiguration.Yes, rudder is included.Michael J.http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg Michael J.
August 26, 200322 yr I got a Saitek 3D Gold USB, I have had it for about 3.5 years, its very good, I migh need to replace it soon, it is starting to get worn out, the stick does everything I want, I reall like the fact that I can fly with it great, all control and then I can use it for driving as well and for only now 30 USD its a good price, when this joystick first came out I payed about 80 USD.
August 26, 200322 yr I just got the Saitek 3D Gold USB last week. It is a really good controller & puts many of the newer ones from other manufactures to shame. And let's face it for $49.97 CDN @ Wal-Mart (of all the places eh?) it was a steal :)Oh & if you're a lefty, don't worry. This stick is totaly customizable to fit southpaws as well.
August 27, 200322 yr I liked it but the movable rest on the yoke where the heel of your hand sits looked kinda flimsey.
August 27, 200322 yr I was kind of hoping that the term "digital" might imply optical sensors instead of pots and therefore higher precision/fewer parts that wear out.
