September 21, 200322 yr Greetings all.I have purchased (should arrive next week) one of the older ATI cards, the ATI Radeon 9200 128MB for use in FS2002 (can't afford anything better on a CFII's salary). The original version of Win98 is my operating system.I was just wondering if the drivers that will come with the card will be alright, or if I would be better off getting newer ones, and where I might get them?I was at the ATI site, but not alot of info there.Regards,ScottKJMS "...now let's get this thing on the hump - we've got some flyin' to do!" ~ Major Kong from "Dr. Stranglove" Scott Cebula
September 21, 200322 yr Hi Scott, the Radeon 9200 is not old, it is a current product. The latest catalyst driver (3.7) from the ATI site will be just fine.It can be found here: http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/winme/r...x=8&submit.y=11Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
September 21, 200322 yr Author Hi Gosta,Thanks for the reply and info!I just figured the 9200 was somewhat dated, since all the posts I saw concerned the 9500 series and up.Regards,ScottKJMS "...now let's get this thing on the hump - we've got some flyin' to do!" ~ Major Kong from "Dr. Stranglove" Scott Cebula
September 21, 200322 yr Hi Scott, actually, the 9200 is very new. It's the budget version to complement the 9600/9800 series. The first one was the 9700, which came out at the end of last year. Then came the 9500, then the 9800 and so on. Somewhere in between came the 9000 and 9100 (don't know if they're still available) and now it's the 9200 to cover the budget end of the market. So, you're definitely getting an up-to-date card :).Cheers,Gosta.http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/images/wxrebeta.jpg
