December 17, 200322 yr HiToday I got the Nvidia FX5950. I install it with no problems and use it for like 4 hours: it's amazing! Then I had to format my hard drive due to an error. So from scratch Iinstalled Windows XP, the drivers, MSFS and so on... Once I installed the FX5950's drivers, it seemed like there was no video card, I mean, when I scrolled down it took like interveals, MSFS is un flyable etc... So I went to the Device Manager where I noticed this message under Display Adapters:Display Adapters >"This device cannot start. (Code 10)Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."When I right Click on Display Prop, there is no Video Card, It says "Default Monitor" and no adapter information at all. I'm attaching some screenshots so you can visualize what I say... easier ;)Any ideas? This are my system specs:Windows XP Home Edition (SP1)AMD XP 2200+1.00 GB RAMA7N8X-X ASUS MotherboardThank youBruno Francescoli.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/53113.jpg

December 20, 200322 yr You need to install updated drivers for your MOBO controller chips, i.e., Intel, VIA, SiS, AMD, ALi. Open device manager, open system devices and look for:Intel CPU to AGP ControllerVIA CPU to AGP ControllerIf these are missing, then you need to visit the MOBO manufacturer's or the controller chip vendor site and download the controller chip drivers. Once you install the controller chip drivers, I recommend you uninstall the graphics adapter drivers from Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs menu, then reinstall the drivers.Lastly, make sure you have all the WinXP updates, especially DirectX9.0b.W. January 7, 200422 yr Thank you very much to both of you. Sorry for the late response but I was out of town.W. Sieffert please excuse my ignorance, but I don't know what a MOBO nor do I know which one I have. Is there any way I can find out the one I have so i can download the correct chip driver because Intel CPU to AGP ControllerVIA CPU to AGP Controllerdoes not appear under the System Devices.Best,Bruno Francescoli.
January 8, 200422 yr Hi Bruno,Mobo is an abbreviation for motherboard. Your A7N8X is made by Asus, and the chip manufacturer is nVidia (nForce2), so you can download the appropriate drivers from either website.Cheers,Gosta.http://www.hifisim.com/images/as2betateam.jpg
January 18, 200422 yr Hi!Ok, I downloaded the drivers for my MOBO controller chip at Asus. Then I un installed the graphic adapter drivers, and reinstalled them. The problem is still here. Sometimes I have the correct driver, and sometimes I have no driver! ... Even worst, sometimes I have lines that go throughout my whole display (I will take a screen shot). I formatted my computer and installed the MOBO drivers, and after that the Graphic card drivers, problem still appears. On top of this:Intel CPU to AGP ControllerVIA CPU to AGP ControllerUnder system devices don't show up. Any ideas? Graphic card corrupted, maybe?Once again, thanks in advance!Bruno Francescoli.
