Need to reinstall WinXP after upgrade to faster CPU ?

Featured Replies

Hi,Does anyone know whether there could be or will be any need to re-install Windows XP after upgrading to a faster CPU ?At least older operating systems used to have hard coded timing loops which they tuned during O/S installation, perhaps even device drivers did that. Not sure whether this is still the case. Then these loops would be too short and may cause trouble.I guess there must be quite a number of people who have done CPU upgrades and can report here on their experiences.Regards,Siggy

Thank you both for your replies. That sounds good, may do an upgrade then.Better than a new box in many respects.Regards,Siggy

Be sure, your Explorer-Options dont hide the System-Files (not default !).For Win2K you find the Orginal-Files in the Servicepack 4For winXP you
