September 15, 200421 yr Yes I have. Your 3D Mad Onion tests will not be as fast, but then they are not real world operations either.I seem to notice "Less" ficker/shimmer in the scenery than with any of the other previous Cat drivers. I also tried the new "Control Center" and had all sorts of problems. The biggest being I could not get my monitor (AOC 9Glr 19") to display at the indicated 85 MHz. When I removed the drivers and control center and re-loaded the smaller (26 Mb) Cat 4.9s with the older control panel, everything worked just fine. I think it might have something to do with the extra Micosoft NET 1.1 program you have to install to get the new control center to work correctly. Sometimes newer is not always better. Again the drivers seem to be doing a good job and when flying at altitude without many clouds, the frame rate on my P4 2.8GHz pumps out at around 70 FPS. Most other times with real weather and on or near the ground I see in the 30s which seems to make the video fairly fluid. I do not run that portion of the FS9 program that generates random "Fake" ground scenery which is a big frame robber.Terry

September 18, 200421 yr Author Thnks for your replies. I have now tried them and have not had any problems. I'm very satisfied with the 4.9's.
September 18, 200421 yr So, to install the 4.9 drivers with the old control panel can I just uninstall the old drivers and install the 4.9's, or do I need to uninstall everything then install the new driver and old control panel? If the latter is the case, which do I install first, the driver or the control panel? Thanks for the helpDavid
September 18, 200421 yr Uninstall everything "ATI" from your PC. Everything. Then download from the ATI site the 4.9 driver with the old control panel. It is a combined (bundled) download - about 26 MB. Then install it.Michael J.WinXP-Home,AMD64 3500+,Abit AV8, Radeon X800 Pro,WD 36GB Raptor,1 GB PC3200 http://www.reality-xp.com/community/nr/rsc/rxp-higher.jpg Michael J.
