July 3, 200520 yr I did a search for this and found nothing relevant. FS9 will just stop and if I alt enter to window the screen I can see the error message that states something to the effect that I do not have enough memory.I have 2 gig of ram and virtual memory settings of 2064 on both the C and E drives. Fs9 does not have the 9.1 fix installed - I have so many payware add ons that I am afraid I'll create a nightmare if I install the patch - as the warnning says in the install that it may not even install if other programs have altered any FS files or drivers = with ASV5, MAAM R4D, breifing time, RealAir spit, SF260 and a few others. This is not a frequent problem, but has reared up now and then, and is the reason I changed the Virtual memory from windows managed to memory allocated on two hard drives - both with around 20 to 28 gig free space.I am not sure if there is a virtual memory allocation number that is the magic answer or not, but if anyone knows, I am sure they frequent this forum. Any adivce?
July 3, 200520 yr Hello,My "experience" is that you have a problem of scenery and landclass .bgl mix. Did you install new sceneries?A landclass .bgl must be stored in a scenery folder BUT this folder MAY NOT be associated with a texture folder.See topic : 238960Hope it helps Emile EBBR Z590 Aorus Elite, i9-11900K 3.5Ghz Nvidia RTX 5070, 32 GB Mem, SSD 3 Tera , 3 monitors Win11 Pro X64 LM P3D V6.1 Little Nav Map Hifisim Nvidia 591.44
July 3, 200520 yr Press Start, right click My Computer, select Manage, Select Storage, Disk Defragmenter, right click the C: drive in the right window, select Analyze. At this point you can view the report or close. Once closed, look at the "Estimated disk usage before defragmation" box and note the size of any green area. This is the vitual memory area of the drive. Do the above for drive E:.First, you don't need all that virtual memory. On my computers, I make a 2GB partition to serve as the page file (virtual memory) drive. I usually see about 766MB of memory used for a page file. That is not to say you won't need more, but 2GB should be plenty.FS9.1 requires the default files placed on your computer by the FS9.0 installation. If you are using updated files to run your addons, then you need to restore the default file prior to installing FS9.1. Also visit the addon builders sites to see if they have newer versions for FS9.1. MS corrected a lot of problems with FS9.1 and it is a shame if you don't upgrade. You also need to accomplish some general maintenance on your computer. There are several posts pinned at the top of the AVSIM forums talking about general maintenance.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
July 4, 200520 yr Thanks for the suggestions. Analysis shows 2 gb allocation on both C and E drives. If I remember correctly, there was quite a drain on memory before the 9.1 patch due to autogen. Probably no getting around it I'll have to install a new copy of FS and patch it to 9.1 and then try to reinstall everything - no fun, but probably the only solution .Thanks again!
