July 14, 200520 yr Commercial Member Guys, I just bought a new X850XT PE nice boost from 9800 non-pro. However, I am getting the same FPS I was getting with my old card. This is what is weird.....when I set the FPS slider to 20 or 25, my FPS register at 12 or below and intermittently fluctuates to 18 for a split second. Flying is not bad, but not fluid, and luckily I do not experience any stutter. Now if I increase the FPS slider to 40 or 50 the FPS will increase to about 18, and if I go to unlimited it locks at 23....and jumps intermittently to 66. This still does not produce fluid simulation (workable but not fluid). Any suggestions? Here is my Rig Specs..... July 15, 200520 yr Is your power supply sufficient? I can't see it in the specs. I think you need at least 400 Watts.Jasper :-wavehttp://online.vatsimindicators.net/820020/3.png

July 15, 200520 yr have you tried to remove all drivers and then completely reinstall with the 4.7shttp://www.kthxdone.com/images/kw_ft.jpgKen Weik [link:maam.org|MAAM-SIM][link:library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=root&SearchTerm=kenneth+weik&Sort=Added&ScanMode=0&Go=Change+View]My AFCADs

July 16, 200520 yr I mean, remove all video card drivers on your system and then do a fresh install with the 4.7s. You could also try to delete your FS9 config and let it generate a new one.http://www.kthxdone.com/images/kw_ft.jpgKen Weik [link:maam.org|MAAM-SIM][link:library.avsim.net/search.php?CatID=root&SearchTerm=kenneth+weik&Sort=Added&ScanMode=0&Go=Change+View]My AFCADs
July 16, 200520 yr I'm in a similar situation. I went from a 9700 pro to an X800XT and I'm getting similar performance on my X800XT as I was with the 9700 pro. I have tried the ATI 5.7 and 5.6 drivers and I'm now getting some what better performance with the 4.12's. Very interesting. Nick Preston :-abduct
July 16, 200520 yr Author Commercial Member I found my Problem.....WHEW!!!!!!!I un-insalled and re-installed my FSUIPC (registered, but before I re-installed, I did a search on my PC for all FSUIPC related files (of which I had several laying around. Also I think the real culprit was a FSUIPC_reg.bin file which is placed by default on the C: drive. I somehow inadvertently compied this file into the modules folder sometime wayback last year, and it stayed there and "festered"Now what I have been doing is just copying the new FSUIPC.dll files into the "modules folder" so that I would not have to re-enter my registration code , etc. instead of removing all the FSUIPC files from my modules folder. As the good old saying goes, "it does not pay to take the short route ....all the time"I now have rock solid performance...locked at 25FPS. Thnks for all the help guys. I am now going to download the latest Vatalyst drives and see how they perform. Wish me luck!!!!
