July 21, 200520 yr Hi,I really hate to say these things but TigerDirect should be ashamed. I recently bought a power supply from them. What I got was nothing less than a disgrace. It was very obvious that it was a restock return that was being sold as new. How obvious? There were screws missing, one of the fans was bouncing around inside and there was dust all over the fan blades. There were also damaged screws holding the case together which says to me that it was taken apart and on top of that it didn
July 21, 200520 yr Jon,Not sure where you live but check out the consumer protection in your state/province, etc. You may find you have more options here than you previously thought. Also, work with your credit card company, they may also provide extra protection.Mark. Mark CYYZ
July 21, 200520 yr Jon, I buy an incredible amount of products from Tiger Direct as I own my own computer business and honestly I am suprised by what happened to you. I have bought from them for at least 6 years now and I have not had any problems. May I ask you a couple of questions though? When you called them to inform them of your complaint did you let your anger or displeasure show in your voice? I have learned that with almost all companies you have to be nice about it or you get treated badly. Of course if the person that you call is having a bad day it may not matter how nice you are anyway. Before I say anything else I just want to say that I am not defending Tiger Direct in any way, I am just curious as to how this all went down since I buy so much from them and I don't want to end up in a bad situation either. I do know that Tiger Direct sells a lot of recertified products, I don't know off the top of my head if they would sell a recertified power supply, I don't know why they would, but are you sure that you did not get a recertified product? Obviously even if you did they are in the wrong here but I know that their return policy on recertified stuff is tougher. I have noticed on occasion though that they will advertise a product at a certain price and if you do not read the information about it you may miss that it is not a new product, although they do make it clear when you complete your order online. I do hope that this gets cleared up for you and I am sorry that it happened, if I can help you let me know since I have a lot of experience with them. I know it is terrible to feel like you have been screwed out of your money. Please let me know if you have any further developements as now I suppose I need to look at whether or not I want to stay with them as a vendor. July 21, 200520 yr Hi,Just to be fair to TigerDirect; they do offer a return channel which I have decide not to used due to the cost to me. The guy I talked to sounded somewhat skeptical about my claim so I suspect they will not believe that they sent me a used item and will claim I
July 21, 200520 yr Although Hangar Chat is an acceptable place to post almost anything, I really think your thread would be helpful to see in the Hardware forum. I suspect your theory of receiving a return is likely--decades ago I used to work retail and a common scam was our customers ordering new mechandise from our catalog and replacing it with worn merchandise. We did inspect all returns, but I don't know if that's true of all in the business.Anyway, let's move this to the Hardware forum where it will be helpful and where, I hope you'll keep us posted.-John
July 22, 200520 yr >Although Hangar Chat is an acceptable ........Hi,I wasn't sure where to post. I started to post here and didn't know if it would be proper so I went for Hangar Chat. Thanks for the move.Jon
July 22, 200520 yr Hi, I have gotten a reply to my emails from TigerDirect customer support and they have decided to take the hard line with a, We apologize that it didn
