November 8, 200520 yr It appears that Microsoft are either unable or unwilling to offer driver support for USB2.0 supported by VIA KT333 chipset. I understand that only Microsoft are licensed to provide any such updates but since the emergence of Windows XP SP2 there is no USB driver support. I keep all my downloads and files on a USB HDD and it gets very frustrating when they cannot be read on occasions. It also appears that for those of us that received an OEM version of Windows XP Home there is no facility to quiz Microsoft as to how, why and when? The only way I can find to get in touch is by contacting a support professional which generally costs money. Microsoft advise any person with OEM software to contact the system manufacturer which is about as much use as no use at all as they are unable to provide any windows driver support due to the restrictions Microsoft themselves have placed on the distribution of any such Windows XP drivers.Have you experienced the same problem? Perhaps you know another way to deal with this. Sadly I have exhausted all of my options as my knowledge in these matters is relatively limited.Any help or suggestions will be most gratefully received.Best regards,Scratch1964
November 11, 200520 yr Just to say that I have heard from MSI (Motherboard manufacturer) and they are unable to offer drivers to fix things. All they have available is the older 2003 set which do not address the problem.Does anyone know what to do here???Scratch1964
November 13, 200520 yr Maybe you've already tried this, but I get a lot of help from this dedicated MSI user forum. Read everything you can...http://forum.msi.com.tw/index.php Rick
November 15, 200520 yr Rick....I did search the database immediately before contacting MSI. There was nothing there at the time, but it is the most likely of all to have info if any becomes available.Thank you for your input!
