January 18, 200620 yr How do these differ from each other? Can I have programs installed in one profile and not the other (and if so, do I have different files in each profile, or is it just a different registry profile)? Or is it just a different desktop? I have tried different hardware profiles.Thanks- Bruce ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
January 22, 200620 yr Your subject is User Accounts but you then talk about profiles within your message.User Accounts allow users to have a desktop, printers, etc. set to their liking. In general, the programs installed on your computer will be available to all users (not always the case). Each user will have their own files set up under ..Documents and Settings(User-Name). Mostly these files will be that user's My Documents folder, their email and internet cache, etc. Most programs are installed to the All Users folder so that the start icons are available to all users.Profiles or Hardware Profiles allow a particular set of hardware to be installed during boot. I doubt many users set up multiple profiles.W. Sieffert Bill Sieffert
