Recommended Posts

Guest Sky720

It's time for a video upgarde for my PC.I would like to know what you guys recommend. My current system specs.Athlon 64 3400+1Gb DDR ram200Gb hard driveGeForce FX5200 AGP video card.So far I've been doing pretty good with what I have. But I would like to be able to turn up my graphics more. And be able to use anit aliasing and more 3d clouds turned on etc.I don't have a alot of money to throw out at this. And I know the FX5200 is a low end card.Currently I have about 300USD to spend on this upgrade. So far for video cards I'm looking at are.ATI x1300 256mb AGPATI x1600 512mb AGPAnyone know if these cards will work with flightsim. Also I have to get a new power supply to. As these ATI cards want a 350 watt power supply. My current power supply is 280 watts. So I'm going to need a bigger power supply to.Thanks for any advice.

After a bit of a fire at my apartment building, I had to replace some computer equipment - I chose the 6800 GS (PCIe) for the new rig, and I must also say that it is a *VERY* good performer for the money. Sure - it's not quite as punchy as the 7800 series, but it FAR exceeds the X1300 and X1600.I actually tried the X1600 and was disappointed - at the time, I thought the 6800 GS was a lower end model from nVidia, not realizing that it was in fact an enhanced performer.-Greg
