BUY A NEW VIDEO CARD...

Featured Replies

Hi,i have a question..in a few days i'm going to buy a new video card..now i have Nvidia geforce 5200 128Mb..I have a pentium4 2.8 GHz 512mb DDR 160GB of HD...what do you think that is the best video hardware for me..?Thanks in advance

Matteo,"what do you think that is the best video hardware for me..?"That depends:1.If you have AGP or PCIe.2.Want to FSX at DX9 or DX10?You might have a look here first: http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=153&card2=ps. i'd suggest adding some RAM to that system too.

don't know what are you talkin about..if you say to me how i can get those info about AGP or PCIe i'll tell you..don't know also about FSX!sorry my ignorance..Thanks in advance

it sounds like you are on AGP like myself,id go for a 7800GT card, thats what i am going to get soon, with an additional 1 gig of ram:-)

If you go here: http://www.benchmarkhq.ru/english.html?/sandradl_e.html scroll to the bottom and download that. It will give a total system overview. Based on that you can see if you have PCIe or AGP.About fsx, you dont know if you want it? Or you dont know what DX9 or 10 is? Once you give more system specs its eaiser to help you what card you want

Matteo, Davis was right with his hint towards more RAM. That's what I would do first if you intend to use il tuo systemo per un momento. :-) Secondly, video cards always connect to a display and you should look at them as 'combinazioni.' Without a indicazioni about your display and resluzioni, advise is practicamente impossibile. Please excuso il mio terribile Italiano, but I hope you get the idea. Magari... :-) Ciao e saltutazioni Jaap

ok..i'll download it!anyway i don't know whats the meaning of FSX and the others...i will write to all about my PC so you can tell me something..

Hi Matteo,FSX = FS10 = FS2006 Hope that clears that up for you, and will wait for you system specs.

ok..so if i have to buy grforce 7600gt..PCIe or AGP..?Sorry but i don' know..Looking with sandra software i noticed that, when looking on video card info, there is "functionaly agp"or something like that..i have to buy AGP version?thanks

Like Clayton said, if you are only upgrading the videocard, and are not planning to do a major upgrade for FSX, then the best and somewhat only option you have left is to buy the 7600GT** as its the last good/fast NVid AGP in the line. You dont have PCIe only AGP. Thats the only advice i can give, since you havent told us if your going to use FSX.My partial advice is based on my opinion that your not going for FSX, and lacking the answer of your display adaptor** NOTE: (What display adaptor are you using?. meaning Size monitor and resolution running FS9)

when FSX will be released i'll use it..!

In my previous post. It matters because its not just the GPU you need to think about. What display adaptor are you using?. meaning Size monitor and resolution running FS9

wellim picking up my 7600GT card with the extra gig of ram tomorrow will post results tomorrow.
