Dash 7 Sound

Featured Replies

Hey All, I am experiencing a problem with the sound in the Dash 7 (Milton Shupe & Co). Seems there is a tick or slight pop sound occuring in the background at regular intervals (approx 5-6 secs). At a loss as to why. Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.Mike

I get the same thing happening with my Baron - when using the add-on sound package by Aaron Swindle. Barry

Hi Mike,This sounds like a "loop" issue in one of the engine sounds or other ongoing sounds like the wind sound. I cannot detect it here but all sound cards respond to these things a bit differently. If you listen to the individual sounds in the sound folder however, they sound clean at the end, though kan11 seems to have a low level noise throughout. These sound files are kan11, kan12, kan13, kan14, and kawind. When listening to the individual sounds, Kawind.wav does have a definite click at the end of the 5 second recording so this could be causing it.If you have a way to edit the recording, you could shave that last bit off and try it. Otherwise, try updating the sound.cfg in the Wind_Sound section to lower the min and max volume levels a bit.Hope this helps.Milton
