Question on a Good Processor for FS2004

I am looking to upgrade my system to a Pentium D 3.4 processor. The price of The Dual core 2 is a little to high right now. How well would the pentium d perform using FS2004 with Level D and PMDG 747 and 737NG. ThanksRuss Talley

My secondary FS system has a 3.06 MHz Pentium 4 HT (1GB 1066MHz RDRAM and a 256MB nVidia 6800 Ultra video card) and can push the Level D and PMDG birds at 22-25 fps after a lot of careful tweaking and provided the scenery and wx complexity are managed carefully.The Core 2 Duo E6300 is only $20-30 more than a 3.4GHz Presler and is a much stronger CPU. What processor do you have now? I would wait for the core 2 duo prices to go lower before upgrading.
