March 30, 200719 yr There isn't much you can do about the stretching, search for Dell 2405FPW here on the forums, alot of threads about it.And as for 2. A very often overlooked issue by buyers is, that Monitor AND video card are very closely linked. For example you cant just buy whatever monitor if your GPU isn't powerful enough, and its a waste to buy an amazing GPU if you only use a 15inch monitor. The higher the display resolution you go, the harder your GPU has to work and thus has to be more powerful, e.a more Vram, higher clocks.Your x850 256mb isnt a monster and is quite dated, being the predecessor of the already older x1800 line, so it really has work hard to cope with such a high res. To have more fluid graphics, you need a more powerful video card. What you can do though is see if lowering AA/AF will help smooth things out a bit more in order to get some FPS boost.
