Spoiler friction/howling effect ?

Featured Replies

After recently downloading an America West 737 by Brandon Williams I was very pleased to discover an added friction/drag sound after lowering the gear on final, much like that heard during a real approach. I was wondering if anyone has noticed (or added) a similar sound file for the howling effect when deploying spoilers in flight. This is mainly noticed when used for slowing the craft to 250 knots before descending below 10,000 Ft. These sounds will hopefully be incorporated in FS2004.Thank you,John Marino

Hi, can you give a link as to where you d/l the 737. Thanks, Russell.

Thats a very good idea/suggestion in fact. I've always wanted to simulate the airframe trembling sounds from the aerodynamic drag caused by extended spoilers. TK

Don't you mean 757? I don't recall a 737 by B.Williams.

I'm sorry, Pabra is correct. The file is America West Full Pack Version 3.0 (awa754fp.zip) which I downloaded from www.fsfreeware.com John

Great suggestion John. I've sent that off to Microsoft.Peter Sydney Australia

Thanks Peter,Aaron Swindle states that this effect could most likely be attained with a gauge. Unfortunately, I am not well-versed in Effects or Sound design, so this will have to be left up to folks like Aaron who are authorities on sound files.John
