September 5, 200223 yr Is it possible to convert a '98 helo to 2k2? If so, how? Thanks in advance!!!!!
September 5, 200223 yr Add it to your fs2002aircraft folder. Start fs2002, select create a flight menu, click on the select an aircraft, click the downarrow and search for the helo (probably will be under unspecified), select it, FS2002 will add lines to your aircraft.cfg and *.air files. The additions may or may not be helpful to your flying of the aircraft.Close FS2002, open Windows Explorer, select and open the aircraft.cfg file for the new helo, Adjust the lines in the General section to make this helo unique, especially the title. Use the Bell or one of the other default aircraft's aircraft.cfg file as a guide for what to put on the lines. Also make sure you have a Radio section in the aircraft.cfg file based on the radios on the panel, i.e., Standby/Active, Active Only.Won't guarantee the helo will fly correctly, since a lot of the fixed wings won't fly correctly during the updating process either.BTW, there are good tutorials for accomplishing the above. September 5, 200223 yr Greetings Crabster,With all the newer FS2000 and 2002 models available, very curious as to why you would want to use FS98 models? Just wondering. :-) Best, Michael KDFW
September 6, 200223 yr I've looked everywhere for a MH-60G PaveHawk and could only find one in FS98 by Phil Stokes. I know Dwight Booth makes one, but not in the textures I'm looking for. So I wanted to see if this would work. It did, but could be better.
September 11, 200223 yr Most FS98 and FS2000 Models work ok in FS2002....check out http://www.simviation.com (helicopters)
September 16, 200223 yr Most of the FS98 and FS2000 helos work fine in 2k2, but they won't have virtual cockpits (if you are in to that) and the textures are not very good as compared to the FS2k2 textures. I would recommend a panel upgrade as well. The older gauges are hard to read in 2k2. They were in '98, but it's all we had then.......Rexbo
