February 24, 200323 yr Good evening gents! Just noticed this forum devoted to us helo flyers....why did I just notice? It's all the way down near the bottom of the blasted forums list page! Why are we relegated all the way down here? :) Do we not , or most of us, use Microsoft Flight Sim for our flying experiences? Perhaps this page could go under the Microsoft Simulator Forum area......more helo pilots would notice it! Not trying to stir the pot, just a thought!Harry
February 24, 200323 yr Hi Harry -- :-wave --- it's not just "gents" who fly these "eggbeaters." I fly 'em too! Yes, I also would like to see this forum moved up a bit, but then I'm sure ALL the forums would love to be "first." Unfortunately we are the "red headed stepchildren" (no offense to redheads or stepchildren... it's just an expression) of the flight sim community. If you haven't already visited, I suggest you also check out the forums at Hovercontrol.com. Those forums are all helo related.-Lindy :-rotor
February 24, 200323 yr Hehehehe sorry bout that Lindy! And yup, I do visit the forums over at Hover Control....great setup there! Just glad there are more helo pilots out there to chat with. You all heard about Jordon Moores new project? The SkyCrane? I can hardly wait!Harry
February 25, 200323 yr The forum has only existed for a few months - I'm happy it's there at all. Previously helicopter stuff was mixed in with the seized wing stuff. You can thank me for the idea 8^) .cheers,Dave BlevinsKRHVHelicopter Tip #3274: Never forget to release the cyclic frictions before lifting off. February 25, 200323 yr Yeah, I remember the notion to have this forum, great idea. As you can tell from the amount of posts here, that Chopper pilots are not the norm, that is cool, more for us! LOLHey Harry, what are your favorite birds???Regards, Michaelhttp://mysite.verizon.net/res052cd/mybannercva1.jpg Best, Michael KDFW
February 25, 200323 yr Though it may be at the bottom, it is the first place I check. :) I enjoy reading the mail, as old as I am I still enjoy learning new things. I owe a great debt to the work of others in my pursuit of entertainment. Thanks to all,John :-rotor
February 27, 200323 yr Well, I have a number of good quality addons I am sure you all have seen or have. My favorite has to be the Jordon Moore B205 packages, awesome visual, great flight dynamics, and coupled with the great sound packages from Manuel Gonzalez. But there are many more in my stable from the Hughes 500 to a great FS2k model of the CH53, which is probably the second most flown helo in my hanger. Then there are the helo's from Ian Stanfast (great stuff!), the helo's from Rob Beard...and so on and so on. :) I do a lot of my online flying around the west coast, British Columbia which has great scenery and great , wet and windy winter weather (say that real fast 5 times). I'll try all the new stuff, but get quite picky as to what stays and what goes. How about you? What are the helo's that tweak your interest?Harry
