I just took a scenic flight in a Bell Ranger 206 at a local fair and forgot to ask the pilot if the Ranger had any type of autopilot. My local TV station also uses the 206 and flies constantly and at good distances. Does anyone know if they have an autopilot to limit pilot fatigue, or do they contantly have to keep their hand on the cyclic?? Thanks. Tom

In general, VFR-only, single-engine helicopters don't have an autopilot. (ALL IFR-certificated helicopters do (most of those are twins).)There are some exceptions to the first statement, but I've never seen one sitting on the ramp - only read about 'em.Dave Blevins
