July 17, 200322 yr Hi - I was looking in the forum earlier today and I saw such great flight plans and I wanted to know...How do you do it? Is there a program you use? or what? Thanks for any information you can provide me with. :)FS2004 is 13 days away!! :):):):)Thanks Again
July 17, 200322 yr Hi Paul,I think everyone at this forum has its own way of flightplanning. Some users have professional flightplanning software (www.jeppesen.com www.uvflightplanner.com www.lido.net), others use tools made for flight simulation (www.fsbuild.com www.asalink.net/davideg/rfquery.html www.danur.com/FOCmain.htm). Thereby, some of us have access to a server with real world flightplans (e.g. www.fboweb.com) or connections with real world flightplanners/dispatchers.Making flightplans by hand is also very exciting. When you are just started with flightplanning, you can get a lot of experience by making them yourself and checking them with a real-world plan or the IFPUV for European flightplans (http://www.cfmu.eurocontrol.be/chmi_public/ciahome.jsp?serv1=ifpuvs).Kind regards,Koen

July 18, 200322 yr Hi Again - I'm still having a lot of trouble understanding this...Let me explain to y'all what I am trying to do and maybe you can help me with a free way to do what I wanna do...anyway here it is: I want to be able to find the route an actual commerical Airline flight took so I can recreate it is MSFS2002 (soon to be replaced my FS2004:)) Is there something some of you guys have/know that I don't?I looked at some of the websites originally given to me and 98.9% of the services on that website cost $$...$$ which I don't really have :(Thanks for all your continued help :)Paul
July 19, 200322 yr Paul,Fsbuild 1.4 is what you can use for this. It is the free version which is still available. You can download it from here.(download link in the upper left frame)http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/a...er1/fsbuild.htmHere are the steps1) Take a Flight Plan from this forum, ex the KEWR-KPBI route posted recentlyhttp://forums.avsim.com/dcboard.php?az=sho...g_id=3921&page=COA1554 KEWR-KPBI B739/MN0466F350 SELBY1 WHITE J209 ORF J174 DIW AR14 METTA AR1 HOBEE SURFN7Modify it slightly so it can be used in Fsbuild 1.4.Prefix and append the departure and destination airport IDs. And replace the spaces with '-'.Also for SID/STAR tyransiions use a period '.'.It should look like this after the modifications...KEWR-SELBY1-WHITE-J209-ORF-J174-DIW-AR14-METTA-AR1-HOBEE.SURFN7-KPBIOnce this is done, paste this route into the Fsbuild 1.4 'Route' box, and press the 'Build FlightPlan' button. To use this in FS2002, select the 'FS2000/02' checkbox on the left, and press the 'Build FlightPlan' button again. The route and all the waypoints will be exported to your FS2002 folder, and you can load it into the FS2002 planner, and fly the route via the GPS if you wish.A tutorial on the web site that describes how to set up Fsbuild 1.4 to use with FS2002, and other addon's is here...http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/a...1/fsbexptut.htmhttp://www.fsbuild.com/dl/fsb143.jpgRegards.Ernie.
